The RemoteStack Manifesto

We built a smaller job board on purpose.

Most remote job boards are full of ghost jobs. Roles that were filled months ago. Applications that go nowhere. Listings recycled from other aggregators with no verification that the job is still open.

We built RemoteStack to fix that. Fewer listings, better quality, sourced directly from company hiring systems so you know the job is real before you spend an hour writing a cover letter.

The ghost job problem is worse than you think.

A ghost job is a listing that looks real but goes nowhere. The company filled the role three months ago. The recruiter is collecting resumes for future pipelines. The listing was scraped from somewhere else and republished without checking if it still exists.

Studies suggest between 30% and 50% of remote job listings on major platforms are ghost jobs. You spend an hour on a tailored application. You wait three weeks. You hear nothing. The job was never real.

Most job boards don't fix this because ghost jobs inflate their listing counts. More listings means better marketing copy. Their incentive is wrong. Ours is the opposite — we'd rather show you 7,000 real jobs than 70,000 stale ones.

How we keep jobs clean.

We only scrape from company ATS systems directly. Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable. When a company closes a role on their ATS, we pull it. Not after 30 days. Not when someone reports it. That night.

Every job on RemoteStack links directly to the company's own hiring page. No middlemen. No redirects through aggregator tracking links. You click apply, you land on the real application form.

We also deduplicate aggressively. The same role posted across multiple sources appears once on RemoteStack. Our listing count looks smaller than competitors. Good. That's the point.

Why direct ATS links beat everything else.

When you apply through LinkedIn Easy Apply or an aggregator's built-in form, your application often never reaches the company's actual hiring system. It lands in a third-party inbox that recruiters check inconsistently, if at all.

When you apply through the company's ATS directly, your application goes exactly where hiring managers look. Greenhouse. Lever. Ashby. Workable. These are the systems recruiters live in. That's where your application needs to be.

Every listing on RemoteStack links to the source ATS page. Apply where hiring actually happens.

We're honest about what's in the listings.

Some remote jobs are genuinely open to anyone in the world. Others are remote but require you to be based in a specific country or timezone. Both are real remote jobs. We list both, and we label them clearly.

What we don't list: roles that require you to show up at an office regularly. Those get classified as hybrid or onsite and filtered out. Every listing is processed by AI to catch the ones employers mislabel.

No recruiter spam. No staffing agency bulk posts. No "work from home" listings that are actually commission-only sales roles. We filter aggressively and we'd rather show you fewer, cleaner results.

Why we cap AutoApply at 20 applications a month.

Other auto-apply tools will send 500 applications a week on your behalf. Some advertise this as a feature. It destroys your response rate and your reputation.

Recruiters talk. ATS systems flag mass appliers. A resume appearing on 400 job applications in a month looks desperate and gets auto-rejected at many companies.

Our AutoApply service sends 20 tailored applications a month. Each one has a cover letter written specifically for that role and company. Each one goes out only after you approve it. You are always the last click before submission.

20 quality applications outperform 200 generic ones. Every time.

What we're building toward.

A job board is just the start. The real problem is that job hunting is an unreasonably time-consuming, demoralizing process that has nothing to do with whether you're good at the job.

RemoteStack AutoApply is our answer to that. You tell us what you want. We find the roles, write the applications, and send them on your behalf. You show up to interviews.

We're not trying to be the biggest remote job board. We're trying to be the one that actually works.

Built from the Himalayas by someone tired of fake remote jobs.

RemoteStack is built by Narender Charan, a solo founder based in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India. 2,050 metres above sea level.

Remote work made this possible. The whole point of RemoteStack is that where you are should not determine what work you can do. We believe that. We live it.

Remote jobs that apply themselves.
