About the Role
Coinbase Advanced is our advanced trading platform for experienced traders, offering secure and easy ways to buy, sell, and trade digital assets across various trading pairs.
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the front-end technical strategy for this platform. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of crypto, trading infrastructure, and consumer product — tackling exciting engineering challenges while contributing directly to Coinbase's core business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to define and execute a technical roadmap for a reliable, scalable trading platform
- Lead the technical initiative to deliver a low latency interface for experienced traders across all platforms
- Provide technical guidance and career mentorship to engineers, anchoring complex projects and ensuring high standards for code quality and system design
What We Look For in You
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, specifically within modern front-end frameworks and mobile environments
- Proven track record of optimizing complex systems, with a focus on rendering performance, network efficiency, and state management
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience mentoring senior engineers and driving organizational initiatives
Work Arrangement
While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.
