About The Role
The Top of Funnel team is responsible for capturing organic user interest through SEO and optimizing the logged-out web experience to convert curious visitors into Coinbase users. We serve over 5 million pageviews per month across critical logged-out surfaces including Asset Detail Pages, How-to-Buy pages, Converter pages, and marketing landing pages.
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep frontend expertise and strong backend capabilities to lead technical strategy across our logged-out web platform. You will architect and build performant, SEO-optimized web experiences, define the future of our marketing attribution and user tracking, and ensure our Marketing Server infrastructure delivers reliable, scalable SSR at the edge. This role requires someone who can work across the full stack — from React/Next.js frontend to Node.js/Go backend services — while driving technical leadership and mentoring engineers across the team.
As Coinbase expands into the Everything Exchange — spanning equities, derivatives, prediction markets, and DEX assets — our team is building the scalable programmatic systems that generate millions of SEO-optimized pages and the self-serve marketing tools that reduce engineering dependency.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drive rapid experimentation by leveraging best practices and tooling to create a repeatable, simple framework for quick logged-out experimentation
- Build and optimize programmatic SEO pages that scale across millions of asset and product combinations
