Responsibilities
- Research and interpret complex tax laws, regulations, rulings, and guidance; prepare technical memoranda and communicate findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to help clients manage tax obligations, identify opportunities, and mitigate risk.
- Serve as a primary client contact for assigned engagements, building strong relationships and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, staffing, billing, realization, and overall profitability.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and review the work of tax associates, seniors, and managers; provide timely coaching and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with partners and leadership on client strategy, technical matters, service opportunities, and practice growth initiatives.
- Support tax notice responses, examinations, and controversy matters, including communication with taxing authorities as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of tax law changes and industry trends, and communicate relevant impacts to clients and team members.
- Expertise in Transfer pricing Transactions and preparation and review of all related bench mark deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA license required; JD, LLM in Taxation, or Enrolled Agent credential may be considered depending on role scope.
- Typically 7+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably within a public accounting or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing multiple client engagements.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance, tax planning, and applicable tax regulations.
- Experience supervising, coaching, and developing tax professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients and team members.
- Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards.
