About the Team

Financial Engineering builds Coinbase's financial data and reporting foundations to enable accurate, timely, and auditable financial operations. The team partners closely with Finance, Accounting/Controllership, Treasury, and Product Engineering to ensure financial data is complete, reconciled, and traceable—supporting core workflows like month-end close, safeguarding, and reporting at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang
• Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices
• Articulate a long term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams running them
• Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers

What We Look For

• 5+ years of software development experience with experience writing performant, large scale distributed systems
• Experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining production services and service oriented architecture
• Ability to write high quality, well tested code that meets customer needs
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results aligned with team objectives
• Ability to mentor junior developers and lead the team technically
