About the Team

The Machine Learning Platform team builds foundational components for feature engineering and training/serving ML models at Coinbase. The platform is used to combat fraud, personalize user experiences, and analyze blockchains. You will apply engineering skills across stream processing, distributed training, and highly available online services.

Job Responsibilities

• Form a deep understanding of Machine Learning Engineers' needs and current capabilities and gaps
• Mentor talented junior engineers on building high quality software and advancing their skills
• Continually raise engineering standards to maintain high-availability and low-latency for ML inference infrastructure running predictive models and LLMs
• Optimize low latency streaming pipelines to provide ML models with fresh, high-quality data
• Evangelize state-of-the-art practices for building high-performance distributed training jobs processing large data volumes
• Build tooling to observe data quality going into models and detect degradations impacting model performance

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer
• Strong understanding of distributed systems
