About the role

IN SHORT

MSQ DX is looking for a Product Manager / Business Analyst to provide additional delivery and requirements capacity for a healthcare claims product line. This role supports the existing Senior Product Manager while managing the transition from legacy claims functionality to a next-generation platform, including future strategy intelligence workflows.

This is a hybrid role: heavier on the business analysis (methodology documentation, requirements translation, definitions) while also carrying core product/project management responsibilities (backlog health, sequencing, cross-team coordination). The right person is comfortable turning claims methodology and data-licensing complexity into clear, well-formed product requirements, and keeping delivery moving without becoming a bottleneck for engineering.

Note: This is a contract position.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Epics, features, stories, and backlog sequencing.
  • Regular product release and enhancement workflow.
  • Methodology-related documentation (e.g., visit/encounter classification methodology).
  • Unique member-related documentation.
  • Payer-name and plan-detail requirements documentation.
  • Summarized code-level and top-code exposure requirements documentation.
  • Product licensing and data-use guardrails as they affect product behavior.
  • Transitioning logic from legacy claims experiences into the client's current platform.
  • Development and documentation of various other product experiences from the capability subject-matter-expert perspective, coordinating with the broader platform team.
  • Platform backlog and dependency management.
  • AI/orchestration, trusted query, methodology, and traceability support.
  • Support of product integration into decision-support workflows and prioritized opportunity signals.
  • Documentation, voice-of-customer integration, and prioritization of customer and competitive. gaps needed for healthcare parity-plus in the platform's GA release.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clearly prioritized, dependency-aware product backlog.
  • Translate capability needs into well-formed epics, features, stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Keep requirements current as methodology, technical feasibility, and customer feedback evolve.
  • Coordinate decisions across cross-functional platform teams and supporting analytics/data engineering teams.
  • Document business rules, definitions, methodology, and unresolved questions.
  • Separate current-train commitments from platform transition work and future-state requirements.
  • Support Lighthouse, Beta, and GA delivery needs specific to the platform.
  • Ensure engineering has enough ready work without requiring Product Manager to become a daily clarification bottleneck.
  • Capture follow-on work rather than allowing scope to expand invisibly.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Strong business analysis fundamentals: requirements gathering, documentation, and translating ambiguity into clear specs.
  • Solid product/project management fundamentals: backlog management, sequencing, cross-team coordination.
  • Comfort with data quality, coverage, and methodology transparency.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics and trusted query behavior.
  • Enterprise SaaS delivery and product backlog management experience.
  • Ability to translate technical or methodological ambiguity into clear product decisions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar backlog/work-tracking tools.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Healthcare claims data and market analytics experience.
  • Familiarity with market share, leakage, keepage, payer mix, and patient-journey analytics.
  • Experience with provider and organization relationship data.
  • Understanding of summarized claims data and licensing constraints.
  • Experience with Sigma and/or Databricks.
  • Prior experience embedded as a contract PM/BA

What is a BA at MSQ DX?

The BA role and expectations tend to vary from company to company. At MSQ DX, BA’s often find themselves in a leadership role on their projects – they own the act of requirements gathering, documentation and the transformation of those requirements into user stories and tasks – thus knowing every aspect of a project in more detail than most other members of the team. Because of this, they must seamlessly be able to work with clients/product owners, solutions architects, developers, designers, and quality assurance personnel. An MSQ DX BA must be highly organized, self-guided and have a sense of pride and ownership in the work they produce. BAs at MSQ DX typically balance multiple client engagements at once, and are expected to embrace AI as part of their everyday workflow — using it to work faster and more thoughtfully, and helping surface new ways the broader team can put it to use.
