The Role
Coinbase is looking for a privacy subject matter expert to lead our Privacy operations. You will work cross-functionally across Legal, Engineering, and Product teams to manage complex privacy and data protection projects. You will ideate on how Coinbase approaches privacy topics and equip the privacy team to craft roadmaps and increase privacy maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct gap assessments against GDPR and other relevant Americas/EMEA/APAC regulations and track issues to remediation
- Independently perform privacy assessments, data reviews, maturity benchmarking, and operational effectiveness testing against Coinbase's common controls
- Oversee and support integration of privacy-enabling solutions including tooling for automated data discovery, classification, ROPA, and data subject rights
- Partner with Platform and Security to implement technology controls to safeguard sensitive data
- Provide oversight into DPIAs and audit Coinbase's privacy program
- Develop, implement, and scale Coinbase's data protection program and governance model in partnership with Privacy Legal
- Lead cross-functional projects focused on user rights and data protection impact assessments
- Develop and establish data protection safeguards for purpose-use limitation, data retention/deletion, and related areas
- Collaborate closely with the DPO and data protection authorities in the Americas as necessary
