About the role

Company Overview

Octant is a platform developed under the Golem Foundation, designed to reimagine funding mechanisms for public goods in the Web3 ecosystem. We sit at the intersection of decentralization, open-source coordination, and blockchain innovation. Our mission is to empower communities and prioritize public good funding through novel governance and incentive systems.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Head of Legal to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in navigating the evolving regulatory landscape of blockchain and digital assets, shaping strategic partnerships, and ensuring all legal aspects of Octant align with our values and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and partnership agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel on traditional and decentralized governance structures related to the Golem Foundation and Octant.
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assess the legal implications of new product, technical and business initiatives, especially those involving cross-border components.
  • Closely cooperate with business and product teams as well as the project leadership on resolving the challenges they may face.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant developments in crypto regulation, DAOs, and digital asset law.
  • Ensure legal frameworks support public goods funding, open-source contributions, and decentralization principles.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel in various countries.
