Your impact
Software Engineers are at the center of the engineering teams at Correlation One. As an Engineer II, you build features and services within your team's technical blueprint and ship high-quality, well-tested code to production. You take on tasks that carry some ambiguity and grow your ownership over time, learning the culture of craftsmanship within your team along the way. You are open to mentorship on technology, craft, and leadership, and you help sustain an inclusive culture where everyone is heard, respected, and empowered.
A day in the life
- Build and ship features and services within your team's architecture
- Help migrate rapidly-prototyped applications into production-grade, well-architected cloud services
- Take on development tasks that carry some ambiguity, asking good questions to close the gaps
- Participate in code reviews and uphold the team's standards for engineering and operational excellence
- Write, review, and update technical documentation
- Collaborate across the team to deliver quality work at a steady pace
Your expertise
- 2-3 years of professional software development experience (ready to own meaningful work with minimal guidance)
- Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python or Java
- Comfortable working with relational databases (we use Postgres)
- Familiarity with version control, code review, and automated testing as part of normal delivery
- Strong communication skills, especially in a remote, async-friendly team
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to building cloud-based services or microservices
- Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and unstructured storage
- Experience with React on the front end
- Familiarity with our stack: Python, Java, FastAPI, Spring Boot, React, Postgres, Kubernetes, GCP, GHA
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Where you are
This role is remote and based in Latin America, with working hours that overlap the US Eastern time zone (EST). We are headquartered in New York City and have office space in Midtown Manhattan.
