About the role
Derivatives Sales Associate - APAC
As a Derivatives Sales Associate on the STP team, you'll accelerate Coinbase Advanced's derivatives growth across APAC by originating and expanding relationships with VIP traders and institutions. You'll own the full sales cycle from prospecting through onboarding, operating with significant autonomy to deliver measurable market share and revenue growth in one of the most dynamic crypto trading regions.
What you'll do:
- Own end-to-end business development for derivatives in APAC, from client origination through negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing account management to maximize trading volumes.
- Drive targeted sales strategies that grow market penetration and revenue across VIP clients, crypto-native high-volume traders, and institutional accounts.
- Build and maintain a disciplined pipeline in CRM with consistent tracking, timely follow-up, and transparent reporting against revenue and volume targets.
- Partner cross-functionally with product, marketing, compliance, and operations to deliver client-centric solutions tailored for APAC markets.
- Lead Coinbase's presence at client meetings, industry events, and conferences across the region as a senior market ambassador.
- Shape Coinbase's competitive positioning and product roadmap by capturing and sharing market intelligence from client interactions and regional trends.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years in derivatives sales, sales and trading, or business development at a tier-1 financial institution, cryptocurrency exchange, or fintech, with a focus on APAC markets.
- Proven origination track record with existing relationships among VIP derivatives traders (crypto or traditional finance) in APAC, demonstrated by measurable revenue or volume growth in prior roles.
- Deep knowledge of derivatives market structure, product types (perpetuals, options, futures), and risk management principles sufficient to consult with sophisticated trading clients.
- History of independently closing complex, high-value deals and consistently exceeding revenue or volume targets.
- Willingness to travel within APAC (up to approximately 30%) and English fluency (spoken and written).
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
