Job Impact
The Experienced MCE Wind Technician in the Main Component Exchange (MCE) division will support and occasionally supervise field work and on-site work focusing on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. They will also perform up-tower repairs and diagnostics on medium & major components including Generator Bearings, Generator Slip Rings, Rotor & Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS replacement, HSS bearings, IMS replacement, IMS bearings, Yaw Drive Repair/Exchange, Generator Exchanges & Trunnion Pin Repairs. The position is 100% travel.
Core Responsibilities
- Support lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250’.
- May be required to oversee lifting operations following skills verification of large components and ability to create, review, correct, and amend lifting plans.
- Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
- Operate under properly performed Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) conditions and possibly as an Authorized Person.
- Conduct pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs), and daily safety discussions.
- Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
- Properly document all work in a variety of electronic formats and provide feedback to the Safety and Quality department for business improvements.

Core Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of direct product experience on one or more platforms.
- Direct turbine specific experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
- Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with additional knowledge in lifting operations.
- Hold specific turbine manufacture certifications.
- Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
- Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults.
Physical/Work Environment
At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
- Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
- Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
- Lift and move equipment as needed (more than 50 pounds).
- Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
