About the role
Accountabilities
- Provide expert functional support and administration across the Workday platform, maintaining system stability, efficiency, and performance.
- Configure and maintain one or more key Workday modules, delivering enhancements in line with governance requirements and global design standards.
- Investigate incidents and system defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage Workday change requests and enhancements end-to-end, from requirements gathering and configuration through testing, deployment, and post-release support.
- Lead the assessment and testing of Workday's biannual releases, identifying technical impacts and ensuring smooth adoption with minimal disruption.
- Monitor data quality, system performance, security, and reporting accuracy, implementing improvements where required.
- Build and maintain Business Processes, Calculated Fields, EIBs, custom reports, and condition rules to support evolving business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to provide Workday expertise, recommend best practices, and maximise the platform’s value.
- Work within structured governance, SDLC, ITIL, and Agile frameworks to deliver controlled, compliant, and reliable platform changes.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in a Workday Functional Consultant or similar role.
- Strong practical experience with at least one of the following Workday modules: Recruiting, Learning, or Compensation.
- Strong hands-on experience configuring Workday Business Processes, Calculated Fields, EIBs (Inbound and Outbound), custom reports, and condition rules.
- In-depth understanding of Workday data structures, business objects, and reporting frameworks.
- Experience with Workday Security or Integrations is desirable.
- Understanding of downstream integrations, data flows, and the impact of Workday configuration changes on connected systems.
- Proven ability to analyse Workday release notes, identify technical implications, and assess impacts on systems and business processes.
- Experience working with ServiceNow and Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver configuration changes within structured governance and controlled release processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
