About the role
Accountabilities:
- Develop and own the overall supplier strategy, including portfolio expansion, supplier sourcing, segmentation, tiering, and investment prioritization.
- Spend significant time in the field building and strengthening senior-level relationships with suppliers, TSDs, channel partners, and technology providers.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, partner events, and executive-level supplier meetings to strengthen strategic relationships and identify opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new go-to-market opportunities, including co-marketing initiatives, joint solutions, strategic partnerships, and new market entry opportunities.
- Identify whitespace across supplier categories and emerging technology markets to expand the portfolio and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Build relationships with supplier executives to secure strategic investments, priority access, preferred commercial terms, and other partnership advantages.
- Monitor telecommunications and technology market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging supplier capabilities to inform portfolio strategy.
- Provide executive leadership with actionable market intelligence, competitive insights, supplier analysis, and strategic recommendations.
- Track the strategic health of the supplier portfolio, including growth potential, market coverage, supplier performance, and competitive positioning.
- Lead high-value contract negotiations and strategic partnership agreements, developing structures that support long-term commercial objectives.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and other leadership teams to align supplier initiatives with growth, revenue, and go-to-market priorities.
- Champion innovation initiatives with suppliers and help bring new joint solutions and offerings to market.
- Transition newly established supplier relationships and go-to-market initiatives to operational teams for ongoing execution.
- Operate independently in the field while maintaining alignment with broader strategic objectives and communicating progress to leadership.
- Navigate complex sales cycles, rejection, negotiations, and evolving market conditions with persistence, resilience, and sound commercial judgment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree in Business Administration is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the telecommunications or technology industry, with deep knowledge of supplier ecosystems and indirect channel dynamics.
- Extensive understanding of supplier strategy, channel partnerships, go-to-market models, and technology market development.
- Strong knowledge of market trends, competitive landscapes, emerging technologies, and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Proven experience leading high-value contract negotiations and structuring complex strategic partnerships.
- Exceptional executive presence and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate market intelligence into actionable go-to-market plans and commercial opportunities.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and deal-structuring skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify whitespace, uncover new opportunities, and convert market insights into measurable growth initiatives.
- Comfortable with frequent travel and extensive in-person engagement with suppliers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight while maintaining strong alignment with organizational strategy.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and growth expectations.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to leverage teams such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and BDRs effectively.
- Resilient, persistent, and capable of navigating long sales cycles, rejection, and complex commercial environments.

- Compensation: Fixed annual salary of $190,000–$200,000, based on location, experience, and job-related skills.
