About the role
Accountabilities:
- Define and execute the overall technology operations strategy and multi-year roadmap across infrastructure, cloud, data, DevOps, cybersecurity, and related operational functions.
- Lead the adoption of advanced AI and automation technologies to increase operational efficiency, productivity, throughput, and business impact.
- Monitor emerging technology and operational trends and identify innovative solutions that improve scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Provide strategic leadership for heterogeneous technology environments spanning public and private cloud, hosted infrastructure, and on-premise systems.
- Drive modernization, automation, stability, availability, and business continuity across the technology environment.
- Establish requirements and operating standards for new technology implementations and communicate technical strategies and priorities effectively to senior business stakeholders.
- Partner with executive and functional leaders to align technology operations investments and initiatives with broader business objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Lead the execution of security, data, infrastructure, and technology operations programs, ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and quality targets are achieved.
- Assess technology-related investment and procurement risks and develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and recommendations for major initiatives and expenditures.
- Build and maintain the people, processes, operating procedures, and technologies required to meet evolving customer and business demands.
- Establish executive-level metrics covering security, data, infrastructure health, operational risks, productivity, performance, and overall technology operations effectiveness.
- Define, measure, and continuously improve technology standards and operating practices to create a sustainable competitive advantage.
- Lead vendor relationships and contract negotiations while optimizing technology spending and ensuring strong service and solution quality.
- Provide technical due diligence and assessments for potential acquisitions and support integration activities where required.
- Lead and develop large, diverse global teams, fostering accountability, innovation, collaboration, and strong talent retention.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of experience leading technology operations across areas such as DevOps, infrastructure, data operations, cloud operations, and cybersecurity.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of AI technologies, tools, and methodologies, with demonstrated success applying AI and automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Strong technical background managing heterogeneous environments combining on-premise, hosted, and public cloud hardware and software.
- Significant experience operating and supporting large-scale SaaS platforms, including deployment, maintenance, monitoring, reliability, and scalability.
- Experience leading cloud migrations and operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Strong cybersecurity knowledge and understanding of modern security methodologies, practices, threats, and risk management.
- Demonstrated success leading modernization and transformation programs across infrastructure and data environments.
- Deep technical understanding of networks, operating systems, databases, application and web servers, infrastructure, and user support.
- Experience establishing standardized operating procedures, technology services, policies, and governance across multiple operational disciplines.
- Proven experience in strategic technology planning, execution, budgeting, business process management, and policy development.
- Experience with project management principles and the ability to translate complex technology challenges into practical business solutions.
- Demonstrated success leading large, geographically distributed and multidisciplinary teams, with a strong track record of attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing talent.
- Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate technical strategy and complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience managing technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and optimizing operational expenditures.
- Experience with acquisition due diligence and technology integration initiatives.
- Compensation: $282,000–$322,000 USD annual base salary for the Zone 1 (National Average) pay band; compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, role requirements, and geographic zone.
