Full Time, Exempt

DocUpdate is building the physician network modern healthcare has been missing. We connect clinicians, patients, and industry partners through free, HIPAA-compliant, mobile-first tools that accelerate access to treatment. Our platform helps healthcare providers prescribe faster, navigate patient access barriers, communicate across languages, and connect with the resources they need to care for patients without added friction. Founded by dermatologist Dr. Osama Hashmi, DocUpdate is physician-led, clinician-first, and growing quickly because providers trust us. We are not building healthcare software for administrators. We are building practical tools for clinicians on the front lines of care.

We are looking for a VP of Marketing to help define the next era of the DocUpdate brand and scale one of the most influential physician communities in healthcare. This is not a traditional healthcare marketing role. We want someone who understands how iconic brands create identity, belonging, aspiration, and cultural relevance. Someone who can build a movement around a product experience. Someone who knows how to make clinicians feel like they are part of something important. The right person has likely helped build brands that became categories unto themselves — through storytelling, community, events, content, and taste. Think: Soho House, Equinox, SoulCycle, Peloton, Slack, or The Wing in its early years. You understand that great brands are not built through paid ads alone. They are built through emotional resonance, community trust, consistency, founder storytelling, and experiences people want to talk about. At DocUpdate, the mission is real: Help clinicians deliver care faster and remove friction from the treatment journey.

What You’ll Own

You will lead the full marketing function across brand, growth, content, community, and experiential. You will help transform DocUpdate from a fast-growing healthcare app into the most trusted and recognizable physician network in the country.

Core Responsibilities

Brand & Narrative

  • Define and evolve the DocUpdate brand as the company scales
  • Build a culturally relevant healthcare brand clinicians genuinely want to be associated with
  • Shape messaging across every touchpoint while preserving trust and clinical credibility
  • Ensure the brand consistently reflects our physician-first identity and voice
  • Translate complex healthcare workflows into clear, compelling storytelling

Founder Brand & Executive Visibility

  • Build a strong physician founder brand and turn us into one of the most influential physician-founder voices in healthcare
  • Develop high-impact thought leadership strategy across social channels (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Reddit), podcasts, press, speaking engagements, and video
  • Create a scalable content engine around founder insights, physician advocacy, innovation, and access to care
  • Help position DocUpdate as the trusted voice connecting clinicians, industry, and patient access

Growth Marketing

  • Own clinician acquisition strategy across paid, organic, partnerships, referrals, and lifecycle marketing
  • Work with team to scale physician acquisition efficiently while maintaining brand quality and trust
  • Provide ideas for experimentation across channels including Meta, LinkedIn, Google, creator partnerships, podcasts, newsletters, events, and emerging platforms
  • Support full-funnel growth systems with strong attribution and performance analytics
  • Drive app dow
