US - Accountant (Spain - Remote)

Join us to shape the future of work: your next adventure awaits! The Position We are seeking a hands-on Accountant to join our U.S. Controlling & Accounting team. This position is fully remote, with the employee expected to work primarily from their remote location (from Madrid, Sevilla, or Barcelona). The role will require periodic in-person attendance at our Madrid, Spain headquarters, generally on a monthly basis, to collaborate with the broader Controlling & Accounting team, particularly during key month-end close periods. The frequency and timing of office attendance will be communicated in advance based on business needs and close-cycle requirements. The Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of key financial processes. The role will be actively involved in month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, audit preparation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- • Prepare and complete bank reconciliations for 15+ bank accounts
- • Perform balance-sheet account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process
- • Prepare and post journal entries
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- • Manage and record daily accounting transactions
- • Monitor expense tracking and support expense-related accounting activities
- • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and management reporting
- • Support internal and external audit preparation, including gathering documentation and responding to information requests
- • Provide administrative support to the Controlling & Accounting team as needed
- • Support month-end and year-end close activities while meeting established deadlines
- • Track tax and legal expenses and maintain appropriate supporting documentation
- • Collaborate with headquarters and cross-functional stakeholders as needed
- • Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, procedures, and controls
- • Maintain lease records and account for operating leases in accordance with applicable local accounting standards
You have...
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related careers
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and processes
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Hands-on approach and willingness to support a broad range of accounting activities
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across teams and locations
Nice if you also have...
- Previous experience at a Big Four or a leading global accounting firm
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or another accounting ERP system
- Experience supporting or participating in month-end close activities
- Experience with bank reconciliations, balance-sheet reconciliations, and journal-entry preparation
- Familiarity with operating lease accounting
