About the role
Accountabilities
- Complete complex client tax projects with limited guidance, demonstrating strong technical judgment and producing accurate, client-ready deliverables.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior-level team members, providing constructive feedback and ensuring quality and compliance with applicable standards.
- Support, train, mentor, and guide tax staff and senior professionals to strengthen technical capabilities and overall team performance.
- Assist with establishing project budgets and resource requirements for assigned engagements.
- Monitor project performance against budgets and proactively communicate potential overruns, delivery challenges, or opportunities for additional fees.
- Manage client engagements and assigned staff, coordinating with other departments when projects require additional services or expertise.
- Maintain strong client service standards through clear communication, timely delivery, and effective issue resolution.
- Manage personal and team priorities effectively while adapting to changing client requirements and business needs.
- Complete at least 40 hours of continuing professional education annually to maintain and strengthen technical expertise.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
- 5+ years of professional experience in public accounting, with substantial experience managing complex tax engagements.
- Strong understanding of tax project management, review processes, budgeting, and client deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision while exercising sound professional judgment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and effectively coordinate the workflow of tax department staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of different teams and committees.
- Adaptable, versatile, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities and client needs can change quickly.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a commitment to developing less-experienced team members.
- Annual salary of $140,000–$180,000.
