Sr. Manager Marketing Operations
About the role
As the Director/Senior Marketing Operations Manager, you will be a key driver of success for our Marketing team. In this role, you will lead the charge to streamline marketing processes, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and manage business-critical data strategies to fuel pipeline and revenue growth.
We're seeking a candidate with experience building, scaling, and optimizing modern marketing operations, with a deep understanding of the sophisticated tech stacks utilized by $100M+ ARR companies. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives on execution to deliver impactful outcomes — someone who has personally built and owned the systems they recommend, not just directed others to build them.
What you'll be doing:
Lifecycle Management
- Own and evolve our lead/contact lifecycle framework, including stage definitions, scoring, and routing rules, in partnership with Sales Ops and Revenue leadership
- Build and maintain the infrastructure that ensures customers and prospects receive the right communications at the right time
- Ensure lifecycle stages are accurately reflected across Salesforce and Marketo, driving consistent, clean handoffs between Marketing, SDR/BDR, and Sales
- Continuously assess conversion and velocity by stage, and proactively recommend improvements to how Marketing and Sales move contacts through the funnel
Marketing Technology Management
- Oversee and optimize traditional marketing tools and platforms (Salesforce, Marketo/Bizible) as well as the broader tech stack
- Manage and oversee data enrichment and data automation/engagement tools to ensure we have current and actionable data for our teams
- Evaluate and implement new tools as needed, including emerging AI-driven data and enrichment vendors, to improve efficiency, enhance campaign performance, and build a culture of continuous improvement
Campaign Tracking, Attribution, and Reporting
- Reimagine our tracking framework to ensure accurate data capture across all digital touchpoints, including custom event tracking, UTMs, and pixel implementation
- Have a foundational understanding of website structure, basic coding concepts, and how data tracking/capture is integrated within websites to support effective implementation and troubleshooting of tracking strategies
- Own and evolve our marketing attribution strategy, evaluating and applying the right attribution models and ensuring the right tech and UTM parameters are in place to deliver clear, actionable insights into campaign performance
- Partner with the Data team and Marketing Analyst to develop and maintain a KPI and ROI reporting cadence for all marketing functions (Growth, PMM, Customer Marketing, Brand, etc.)
Data Management, Privacy, and Compliance
- Work with legal and compliance teams to oversee consent management practices, maintain data privacy standards, and ensure marketing campaigns are executed responsibly and within regulatory frameworks
- Drive data currency, quality, and accuracy through a regular cadence of contact and account enrichment, owning tools such as ZoomInfo and Clay
- Ensure all marketing operations comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data privacy regulations
What we are looking for:
- 6+ years of marketing operations experience in a SaaS startup environment
- Experience working within, or very closely partnered with, a centralized Marketing Operations function supporting Revenue/Growth Marketing specifically
- Has personally built and owned a marketing attribution strategy, not just directed one
- Understands the strategic importance of Lifecycle and how it powers both Marketing and Sales, with hands-on experience owning lifecycle stage design and routing
- Advanced Salesforce knowledge to build campaign reporting and dashboards
- Hands-on experience and current advanced understanding of Marketo is a must (Marketo Certified is a bonus)
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with data enrichment platforms
- Strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy regulations to ensure compliance across the organization
- Have worked alongside (or as part of) a marketing team and understand the end-to-end of building and measuring integrated marketing campaigns
- You are an extraordinary communicator and project manager. You have the ability to prioritize projects and clearly communicate timelines to your team and stakeholders
- You are data-driven. You have experience and interest in reporting and can interpret data to help optimize marketing strategies
- A strong communicator. You have experience presenting recommendations and outcomes to senior leaders and an interest in teaching others
- You spot areas of opportunity, analyze them, and proactively provide solutions
- Passionate about marketing operations and technology, stays up to date on the latest trends
