About the role
Accountabilities:
- Develop thought-leading research and strategic advice on the emergence, adoption, evolution, and disruption of technologies across AI data security and AI ecosystem data management.
- Produce high-quality research reports, presentations, briefings, and other content that provides practical guidance to technology CEOs, product and innovation leaders, product managers, and marketing professionals.
- Advise clients directly through virtual and in-person meetings, teleconferences, inquiries, briefings, and speaking engagements, translating complex technology trends into actionable recommendations.
- Analyze emerging security technologies, market dynamics, competitive landscapes, vendor strategies, and adoption patterns to identify significant trends and implications.
- Research topics including cloud and on-premises data visibility, classification, monitoring and protection; AI model training and governance; data security across data at rest, in transit, and in use; encryption and tokenization; and AI security platform architecture.
- Build and maintain a strong network of academics, investors, startups, technology vendors, and other industry experts to support interviews, case-based research, and emerging technology analysis.
- Collaborate with adjacent analysts, researchers, and service delivery teams to develop integrated, high-quality research and client experiences.
- Ensure the rigor, integrity, consistency, and relevance of research methodologies, analysis, and conclusions.
- Analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative information, applying frameworks and patterns to develop and defend clear perspectives on complex client challenges.
- Present research and insights effectively to both small and large audiences, including senior executives and industry professionals.
- Represent established research methodologies and strategic perspectives effectively across client engagements and internal collaboration.
- Continuously monitor developments in AI, cybersecurity, data management, and related markets to maintain current and forward-looking expertise.
- Contribute to a collaborative global research environment while independently managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; a graduate degree or equivalent professional experience in cybersecurity, AI, data management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience, with substantial expertise in cybersecurity and specific relevance to AI data security and AI ecosystem data management.
- Deep subject-matter expertise across AI data security, AI data management, and the associated technology and vendor landscape.
- Strong understanding of cloud and on-premises data visibility, classification, monitoring, and protection technologies.
- Knowledge of data management for AI model training, management, learning, and governance.
- Strong understanding of data security for information at rest, in transit, and in use, including encryption and tokenization.
- Familiarity with AI security platform architecture and its relationship to data management.
- Experience using, or the ability to quickly learn, research and financial intelligence platforms such as PitchBook, CapIQ, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, and comparable data sources.
- Demonstrated executive presence and the ability to establish immediate credibility with senior executives and other stakeholders.
- Exceptional research, analytical, writing, synthesis, and presentation skills.
- Strong ability to explain highly technical and complex concepts clearly, concisely, and in an accessible manner.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, including the ability to respond thoughtfully and confidently to challenging questions.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with an understanding of global competitive dynamics and market interactions.
- Comfortable presenting to both small groups and large-scale professional audiences.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under demanding deadlines.
