Your Impact
Our advanced Solar Field Service Technicians (Photovoltaic Repair) specialize in conducting inspection and corrective maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) solar panel systems, adhering to established procedures and prioritizing health, safety, and environmental compliance. Solar Panel Maintenance Technicians will be responsible for both internal and external inspection and maintenance of solar panels, inverters, and other PV components and mentoring team members. Your day-to-day tasks may include troubleshooting, testing, and repairing solar panels, as well as handling materials. You will also provide assistance in service and maintenance activities related to other solar energy system components and associated equipment. This is up to a 100% travel role.
Core Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot inverters, combiner boxes and replace/repair string lines.
- Perform LOTO, IV Curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Lead by example in maintaining safety protocols and operating with professionalism.
- Troubleshoot solar system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
- Operate your Pearce motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
- Maintain PEARCE company vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, functional.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
- 1+ years' experience on commercial and/or utility scale solar sites.
- Experience with electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs
- Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures and able to apply NFPA 70E/OSHA 10 training.
- Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
- Able to test installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections.
- Proficient with Microsoft office.
Physical/Work Environment
At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
- Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
- Work possible rotating shifts (100% travel is required for this position).
- Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
- Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
