Software Engineering Team Lead (Compliance Domain)

Accountabilities

• • Lead, coach, and mentor a software engineering team, supporting individual development, technical growth, and career progression.
  • Drive the delivery of critical products and features, ensuring engineering work aligns with business and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to architectural decisions across financial services and compliance-focused platforms.
  • Promote engineering excellence through modern development practices, code quality standards, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the design and evolution of scalable, resilient systems using microservices and modern architectural approaches.
  • Encourage a culture of collaboration, ownership, innovation, accountability, and knowledge sharing.
  • Help identify technical challenges and opportunities, ensuring the team proactively addresses risks and improves delivery outcomes.
  • Guide engineers through complex technical problems while remaining engaged with the development lifecycle.
  • Champion the effective use of AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity and software delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate technical decisions clearly.

  Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and managing software engineering teams, with a strong track record of developing and motivating engineers.
  • Strong professional experience with PHP and modern software development practices.
  • Experience with Symfony or a comparable PHP framework.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and scalable software design.
  • Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and their application in software architecture.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, with experience using platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools to improve coding productivity, engineering workflows, or software quality.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
  • A natural ability to coach, mentor, inspire, and empower engineers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve and complex challenges require pragmatic solutions.
