Snowflake Developer

Accountabilities

• • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, SQL, and ETL/ELT technologies.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and business insights.
  • Create and manage Snowflake objects, including databases, schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures.
  • Integrate Snowflake with multiple data sources, cloud environments, and third-party tools.
  • Monitor Snowflake environments and investigate and resolve performance, reliability, and data-processing issues.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, security, governance, and access-control standards are consistently applied.
  • Automate data workflows and contribute to best practices for efficient, scalable, and maintainable data management.
  • Participate in Agile-based development processes and contribute to continuous improvement across the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Use performant SQL and data solutions to generate actionable business insights and support better organizational decision-making.

  Requirements

  • 5–15 years of professional experience in data development, data engineering, data warehousing, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Snowflake SQL and Snowflake architecture.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing data pipelines using Snowflake and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Talend, dbt, or Matillion.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ability to write efficient, high-performance SQL queries and scripts for data transformation and business analysis.
  • Understanding of Snowflake security concepts, including role-based access control and data sharing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, or Shell scripting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is desirable.
  • Snowflake certification, such as SnowPro Core, is considered an advantage.
