About the role
Job Description: Technical Program Manager for Security (Ireland)
Location: Ireland (Dublin or Remote)
Reporting to: Chief Information Security Officer
Job Summary
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the Security organization, you will play a critical role in bridging technical security initiatives with business strategy. You will drive high-stakes security programs, from planning and metric definition to executive reporting. You will act as the orchestrator of complex security initiatives, ensuring they land on time, within budget, and aligned with company goals.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Planning & Program Definition:
- Drive strategic planning for security initiatives, translating high-level goals into executable, multi-phase programs.
- Own the end-to-end program lifecycle: define program scope, deliverables, and milestones.
- Validate and update the security strategy/roadmap twice per year, adapting to emerging threats and company growth.
- Project Management of Security Initiatives:
- Provide dedicated project management for complex, cross-functional security initiatives.
- Identify dependencies and bottlenecks, taking a proactive approach to unblock progress.
- Functional Reporting & Operational Oversight:
- Facilitate functional reporting within the Security team for projects not managed directly by the TPM, ensuring transparency across all initiatives.
- Build and maintain a dashboard of impactful security metrics (KPIs/KRIs) to provide visibility into operational responsibilities, such as patch management, detection times, and coverage gaps.
- Budgetary Management & Procurement:
- Support financial management by tracking program budgets, ensuring cost-efficient delivery, and managing procurement tasks (e.g., vendor tools, SaaS security tools).
- Liaise with procurement and financial management teams on vendor selection and contract management.
- Executive Communication & Governance:
- Create presentations for executive management and the Board of Directors, translating technical security metrics into business context.
- Organize and conduct key meetings including Security Leadership, Security Steering Committee, and periodic Security Team updates.
What You Bring
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience including 5+ years of technical program management experience, ideally within cybersecurity or Information Security.
- Technical Acumen: Strong technical fluency in security domains—understanding of infrastructure, software development practices, and secure SDLC.
- Tooling Proficiency: Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for tracking programs.
- Data & Reporting: Demonstrated ability to build dashboards for tracking KPIs and present data-driven insights to stakeholders.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to C-level executives.
