As a (Senior) Team Lead Software Development, you bring seniority, structure, and quality to our people-leadership layer. You directly manage engineers, set standards for excellent people management, and work closely with our Head of Engineering on organizational, cultural, and architectural topics. This role is not positioned above, but alongside the existing team leads—as an experienced peer who leads through expertise, clarity, and role modeling.
Responsibilities
- Take direct people-management responsibility for 8–9 engineers across multiple product teams
- Design and roll out a consistent people-management operating model for all Team Leads
- Together with the Head of Engineering, own performance cycles and calibration processes
- Actively contribute to hiring, interviews and onboarding improvements
- Act as a trusted partner for Product, Business and HR stakeholders
- Co-build the engineering ladder, job structure and relevant KPIs
- With a 20–30% hands-on contribution, stay close to the codebase and support architectural modernization
Your Profile
- Several years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead plus a strong software-engineering background
- Confidence working in matrix organizations with separated product and people leadership
- Proven ability to handle feedback, performance management and career development
- Strategic thinking on organizational and cultural topics
- Strong technical credibility in architecture discussions
- High emotional intelligence and clear communication skills
- Fluent German and professional English
