About the Role
The Veeam Data Cloud Solution Engineer is one of our most strategic technical roles, supporting the largest and most critical pursuits in the Central region for our rapidly growing Veeam Data Cloud platform. Reporting to the WW Solution Engineering Leader for Veeam Data Cloud, you will partner closely with field sellers and the VDC Sales Specialist to win the technical decision on complex, large-scale data protection opportunities, with a quota focused on Veeam Data Cloud M365 and EntraID. You will serve as the deep technical expert on Veeam’s Microsoft data protection products, including M365, EntraID, and Planner, while staying current on AI, ML, DPSM capabilities, and the competitive landscape. This role also connects directly with Microsoft to leverage the Veeam and Microsoft co-sell partnership.
What You’ll Do
- Drive revenue by serving as the technical expert on the Veeam Data Cloud platform, progressing deals by winning the technical decision on opportunities above $100K ARR and advising on smaller engagements
- Deliver deep technical presentations and tailored product demonstrations to customers, highlighting key capabilities in AI, ML, DSPM, and Microsoft workloads including M365, EntraID, and Planner
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs, design solutions aligned with customer objectives and industry best practices, and craft compelling solution recommendations
- Develop and execute Proof of Concept tests to validate the effectiveness and suitability of Veeam solutions in customer environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation including solution briefs, whitepapers, and best practices around restore orchestration and backup policy design
- Act as the voice of the customer by driving regular cadence with Veeam product teams to surface feature gaps, enhancement opportunities, and key technical issues from losses
- Deliver training to customers, partners, and Veeam sales teams on Veeam Data Cloud and data protection best practices, and support ongoing knowledge sharing across the global field sales organization
- Be able to travel a minimum of 30%

What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in software sales, technical pre-sales, or solution engineering, ideally with direct experience selling or supporting core Microsoft workloads or data protection solutions for those technologies
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 and data protection requirements across Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and EntraID
- Experience with DSPM solutions such as Microsoft Purview, including working knowledge of how organizations identify, monitor, and protect sensitive data
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security requirements, Azure services, and M365 APIs
- Technical depth in backup and recovery processes and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer
