Role Overview
As a Senior Rostering Officer within the National After-Hours Service (NAHS), you will coordinate and optimise the engagement of available employees to meet client requirements and promote a sustainable workforce for Child, Youth & Family Services across Australia outside of standard business hours. You will also provide real-time guidance and mentorship to Roster Officers, including onboarding, training, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain staffing rosters in accordance with client needs, funding allocations, budget and award requirements
- Fill shifts impacted by unplanned leave or changes in client support needs
- Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders effectively, particularly in response to schedule/roster changes, roster concerns and complaints
- Work with stakeholders to understand Service Agreements and client needs
- Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner, including call logs and employee schedule changes within relevant systems
- Manage complex rostering matters, escalating to the Operations Manager or National Manager on shift where needed
- Support and mentor Roster Officers with guidance on shift, onboarding, training and professional development
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in a high-volume rostering or scheduling role, ideally utilising the SCHADS award
- Previous experience in the utilisation of rostering software systems (Microsoft Teams Shifts experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience providing coaching and mentoring to team members
- Understanding of service delivery within residential Child, Youth & Family services
- Experience managing competing priorities to deliver outcomes within required timeframes
- Confidence to respectfully navigate complex or difficult situations/conversations with stakeholders
- Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with stakeholders
