Senior Product Engineer (Contract)

Accountabilities:

• • Use AI-assisted development practices to rapidly prototype, validate, and deliver production-ready software solutions.
  • Identify opportunities where software, automation, data, or AI can improve operational efficiency, products, or revenue outcomes.
  • Own solutions end-to-end, from discovery and scoping through architecture, implementation, deployment, measurement, and ongoing iteration.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand challenges, define solutions, communicate trade-offs, and measure results.
  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications, backend services, automations, and internal tools that deliver measurable business value.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, technical strategy, and the long-term evolution of platforms and systems.
  • Work with cloud infrastructure and edge platforms such as AWS and Cloudflare.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews, maintain high engineering standards, and support other engineers through technical mentorship and problem-solving.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and engineering practices that can increase team effectiveness and development leverage.
  • Follow an outcome-focused engineering culture centered on frequent delivery, infrastructure ownership, automation, and continuous improvement.

  Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous business problems and independently turn them into deployed software solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven experience delivering complex production systems with minimal oversight and strong end-to-end ownership.
  • Strong product thinking and judgment, including the ability to assess build-versus-buy decisions and leverage existing platforms, automation, and AI where appropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively in production while maintaining high standards for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment, particularly when validating, refining, and extending AI-generated solutions.
  • Experience building and maintaining production web applications.
  • Familiarity with modern application frameworks such as Laravel or comparable technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing experimentation or A/B testing frameworks using tools such as PostHog or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Cloudflare, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong experience with relational databases and writing and optimizing queries both within and outside of ORMs.
  • Proficiency with Git-based development workflows, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in globally distributed teams.
  • Highly self-driven and autonomous, with strong prioritization skills and a consistent track record of delivering results in remote environments.
  • Experience with PHP, Python, TypeScript, Laravel, Astro, AWS, Cloudflare, MySQL, Datadog, PostHog, LLM APIs, embeddings, RAG architectures, agent frameworks, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, or orchestration is helpful, but exact technology matches are not required.
