Senior Java Cloud Backend Engineer (m/f/d) (Ref.Nr.: 46659)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Cloud Backend Engineer to further develop a master data solution in the after-sales domain, focused on managing battery systems, vehicle references, and logistics data. This role is ideal for candidates from nearshore countries who want to work on complex software architectures in a modern cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of cloud-based microservices based on Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x
• Design and optimization of NoSQL database structures (MongoDB), taking into account replication, sharding, and schema evolution
• Implementation of REST services and integration of API Gateway solutions
• Design and implementation of event streaming solutions with Apache Kafka
• Ensuring application security through the implementation of Spring Security
• Conducting performance analyses and code optimizations for Java and NoSQL databases
• Maintenance and enhancement of Terraform scripts for managing AWS infrastructure (EKS, ECR)
• Configuration and management of CI/CD pipelines and deployments using Argo CD and Argo Rollouts
• System monitoring, incident resolution, and ensuring backup and disaster recovery mechanisms

Required Competencies

• Business-level English (C1 level)
• Relevant experience in development with Java 17 and cloud-based microservice architectures
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Data, Spring Security, Lombok and JUnit
• Proficient with MongoDB 6.x/7.x and NoSQL design (replication, sharding, schema evolution)
• Experience in the development of REST services and API gateways
• Very good knowledge of Apache Kafka
• Expertise in performance and code optimization (Java/MongoDB)
• Extensive experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and AWS (EKS and ECR)
• Proficient handling of CI/CD processes and deployment using Argo CD and Argo Rollouts
• Experience in DevOps activities such as monitoring, incident resolution, and backup and recovery mechanisms
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the site in Germany (about 1–2 site visits per year)
