About the role
Accountabilities:
- Provide responsive first-line HR support throughout the employee lifecycle in Canada and the United States, from pre-hire through post-termination, resolving requests or escalating them to the appropriate team when required.
- Support onboarding activities for new employees, including orientation coordination, follow-up, and resolution of onboarding-related questions.
- Assist employees and managers with day-to-day HR systems and service requests, including Workday, Ceridian Dayforce, payroll-related support, and the internal HR ticketing system.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR system information is updated promptly and consistently, supporting strong data integrity.
- Respond to employee, manager, and HR team inquiries through multiple communication channels with clear, professional, thoughtful, and timely guidance.
- Support HR audits, reporting requests, data reviews, and other operational activities while identifying opportunities to improve processes and the employee experience.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and other HR functions to ensure effective resolution of employee needs.
- Identify opportunities to use new technologies, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and the quality of daily HR service delivery.
- Minimum 2 years of professional HR experience, preferably in an HR services, HR operations, shared services, or employee-support environment.
- Experience supporting employees located in both the United States and Canada, with an understanding of the needs of a geographically distributed workforce.
- Familiarity with HR information systems and a willingness to develop expertise in platforms such as Workday and Ceridian Dayforce.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new HR tools and technologies.
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Fluent English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a U.S. time-zone schedule.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a service-oriented approach to supporting employees and managers.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, confidential, and reliable employee information.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests effectively.
- A proactive mindset and genuine interest in applying automation, AI, and emerging tools to improve HR processes and employee experiences.
- Competitive annual salary of CAD $55,000–$65,000, depending on skills, experience, education, location, and internal equity.
