    • Own features end-to-end, from requirements definition through implementation and production, spanning backend integrations, data pipelines, APIs, and frontend experiences.
    • Develop and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs and backend services primarily using Node.js.
    • Work across multiple systems, integrating existing and legacy services while maintaining data consistency across downstream platforms.
    • Drive modernization initiatives by balancing new development with ongoing support, migration, and improvement of legacy systems.
    • Shape technical direction through design reviews, architectural decisions, engineering standards, and best practices across backend and frontend development.
    • Contribute to shared UI patterns, frontend architecture standards, and backend design conventions that improve consistency across the broader engineering environment.
    • Collaborate closely with Product and Design to transform complex data and publisher workflows into intuitive, performant dashboard experiences.
    • Investigate and resolve reliability, performance, and user-experience issues using metrics, monitoring, observability, and hands-on technical analysis.
    • Support a high engineering quality bar through testing, code reviews, accessibility practices, maintainability standards, and knowledge sharing.
    • Requirements

      • Proven professional experience designing and building production-grade backend services, APIs, and data models, with strong experience in Node.js or comparable backend technologies.
      • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, including component design, state management, frontend performance, and maintainable architecture.
      • Demonstrated ability to take complex features from requirements through production across both backend systems and frontend surfaces.
      • Experience designing and delivering production-scale products involving APIs, integrations, data-intensive systems, and user-facing experiences.
      • Proven experience influencing architectural decisions, establishing technical standards, and helping shape the engineering direction of a team or product area.
      • Experience working across multiple systems, teams, or codebases while maintaining technical quality and consistency.
      • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, code reviews, accessibility, observability, and maintainable system design.
      • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments, take ownership of initiatives, and make pragmatic technical decisions with limited guidance.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to define scope, align stakeholders, and work effectively with Product, Design, and engineering teams.
      • Experience with design systems, configuration-driven UI frameworks, or no-code builders is an advantage.
      • Familiarity with frontend observability, including performance metrics, error tracking, and user-experience signals, is beneficial.
      • Experience in advertising, analytics, e-commerce, or similarly complex data domains is a plus.
      • Exposure to cross-team technical alignment, engineering guilds, quality initiatives, or architectural governance is also valued.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive base salary of $103,000–$153,000 CAD for Zone A or $111,100–$161,100 CAD for Zone B, depending on primary work location.
