About the role
Accountabilities
- Lead full-cycle, strategic faculty recruitment plans for assigned departments and requisitions, partnering with hiring managers to define candidate profiles, recruitment timelines, sourcing approaches, and selection processes.
- Conduct detailed intake meetings, refine job requirements, and ensure job postings effectively communicate the employee value proposition while using inclusive and compelling language.
- Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract diverse, qualified candidates for faculty, provider, executive, and other hard-to-fill positions.
- Build and maintain candidate pipelines through direct outreach, personalized messaging, networking, job advertising, career fairs, professional events, and other targeted recruitment channels.
- Guide hiring leaders and committees throughout the recruitment process, providing expertise on inclusive recruitment, interviewing practices, equitable decision-making, and candidate selection.
- Manage candidate communications throughout the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a responsive, professional, empathetic, and consistent candidate experience.
- Track sourcing activity, recruitment outcomes, pipeline development, market trends, and retention data, using insights to recommend improvements to recruitment strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as a trusted recruitment advisor to faculty, providers, staff, and leadership, responding to inquiries and providing practical guidance on recruiting and sourcing matters.
- Collaborate with HR business partners, HR centers of expertise, staffing agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve complex recruitment issues and support assigned initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment workflows, efficiency, and service quality, participating in process improvement initiatives and applying lean methodologies where appropriate.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in designated recruitment responsibilities, share knowledge with colleagues, train team members and department staff, and provide operational coverage during periods of increased demand.
- Support recruitment-related projects, meetings, events, and organizational initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, institutional policies, collective bargaining agreements, and professional standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible recruitment experience, including managing requisition portfolios, recruiting for hard-to-fill positions, and developing recruitment and sourcing strategies; equivalent staffing experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and sourcing for specialized, difficult-to-fill, faculty, provider, executive, or similarly high-impact positions.
- Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive recruitment practices, with the ability to promote equitable and accessible hiring processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with faculty, providers, staff, leadership, students, candidates, and community stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise, logical, accurate, and professional correspondence, reports, recruitment materials, and other documentation.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the initiative to identify needs, anticipate challenges, and develop practical solutions with minimal direction.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions, competing priorities, fluctuating workloads, and changing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach to resolving complex recruitment and operational issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email applications, and standard recruitment technology; experience with sourcing platforms such as SeekOut is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings and to provide clear guidance to hiring leaders and stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in employee, provider, or executive recruiting and familiarity with advanced sourcing strategies and technologies.
- Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional evenings or weekends when business needs require.
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to urgent recruitment or operational matters.
- Ability to work remotely while supporting occasional on-site activities in Portland, Oregon, and participating in recruitment events as needed.
- Primarily remote work arrangement, with occasional on-site responsibilities in Portland, Oregon.
- Full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
