About the role

Senior Environmental/Remediation Engineer

Apex is seeking a Senior Environmental/Remediation Engineer to be based in our Northern California region.

Our Northern California division is home to a multidisciplinary team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers who collaborate on a wide variety of project types and environmental contaminants. Your Responsibilities as a Senior Environmental/Remediation Engineer:

  • Serve as senior technical lead on projects with revenue of $2M to $3M annually.
  • Contribute to successful business development of new clients and projects at greater than $500K annually, with a focus on brownfields redevelopment, groundwater/soil characterization and remediation, landfill engineering, or water resources;
  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.
  • Assist with project management activities.
  • Mentor and train technical staff and ensure quality work products.

What we're looking for:

  • BS in Engineering. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with environmental/remediation services, including technical writing, technical oversight, project management, business development, and staff management.
  • Experience with manufacturing, utility, oil & gas, municipal (including landfills) sites; petroleum and chlorinated solvent contaminants and Potentially Responsible Parties (PRP) groups.
  • California PE required
  • Proven track record in business development and project management experience.
  • Experience mentoring and developing staff.
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to successfully multi-task
  • Safety mindset and awareness and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
