About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead and/or mentor the program management team supporting oncology clinical development lifecycle management, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Develop and drive global product development strategies, ensuring cross-functional alignment and clear execution against organizational and patient-focused objectives.
- Establish effective processes for team management, communication, governance, and strategic decision-making across complex development programs.
- Plan and execute projects in accordance with global clinical development strategies, coordinating activities across internal teams and external collaborators.
- Facilitate alignment among key stakeholders and maintain effective communication across core teams, sub-teams, and project functions.
- Develop, validate, and maintain integrated project schedules, tracking milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and delivery risks through enterprise project management systems.
- Lead team planning sessions, including development of team charters, project scopes, operating approaches, and global cross-functional alignment.
- Implement strong project and risk management practices to identify issues early, establish mitigation strategies, and maintain delivery momentum.
- Manage oncology project budget governance and oversight, including monitoring and supporting appropriate budget-related decision-making.
- Coordinate project meetings, agendas, minutes, action items, progress reports, and follow-up activities in accordance with established project management practices.
- Lead process improvement initiatives focused on areas such as budget change control, program management dashboards, reporting, risk management, and operational efficiency.
- Provide project management support to core and sub-teams as needed, ensuring high-quality deliverables, presentations, and decision-making materials.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver high-quality work products and maintain strong working relationships across the development ecosystem.
- Take on additional strategic leadership responsibilities aligned with experience, including alliance management for development partners and independent leadership of oversight or steering committees.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required; a Master’s degree, MS, MA, or MBA is preferred.
- With a Bachelor’s degree, 12+ years of overall professional experience and at least 10 years of experience in drug development or commercial environments within academia, consulting, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology organizations.
- With a Master’s degree, 8+ years of overall professional experience and at least 6 years of experience in drug development or commercial environments within academia, consulting, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology organizations.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex programs, portfolios, or cross-functional initiatives within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consulting, or related environments.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in multicultural and international environments is preferred.
- Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, milestone management, risk management, budget governance, and cross-functional program execution.
- Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, establish priorities, and drive teams toward measurable outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills across diverse organizational levels and functions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and enhance team efficiency, quality, governance, and performance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to operate effectively in complex and evolving environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment and embrace change, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Annual base salary range of $214,500–$284,500, with actual compensation determined by experience, qualifications, education, skills, certifications, and work location.
