About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead cross-business-unit FP&A process improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and inconsistencies and implementing standardized workflows, reporting structures, templates, and operating procedures.
- Facilitate recurring process-sharing and best-practice sessions across FP&A teams, translating findings into practical recommendations and driving adoption of improved processes.
- Enhance budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to improve transparency, accuracy, timeliness, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Own or contribute to strategic and ad hoc projects involving financial modeling, systems evaluations, cross-functional analysis, and operational improvements.
- Lead complex initiatives involving business-unit finance teams, Corporate Accounting, and Corporate FP&A by establishing clear objectives, timelines, ownership, and accountability.
- Support and progressively assume ownership of monthly consolidation of business-unit financial results, forecasts, budgets, and variance commentary into enterprise-level reporting packages.
- Ensure consistency in financial definitions, terminology, templates, and performance metrics across business units, identifying and resolving discrepancies before executive reporting.
- Partner with the CFO and senior FP&A leadership to develop investor updates, quarterly business review materials, and other executive-facing financial communications.
- Support Board presentations by coordinating business-unit inputs, validating financial information, and ensuring materials are accurate, concise, and aligned with broader business messaging.
- Assist with lender reporting packages, covenant compliance materials, and ad hoc financial analyses related to financing requirements.
- Build trusted relationships across Corporate FP&A and multiple business-unit finance teams, influencing stakeholders and driving change without direct authority.
- Challenge existing practices, proactively identify gaps, and develop solutions that improve financial discipline, collaboration, and organizational effectiveness.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality, compliance, separation-of-duties, and data-handling standards, including applicable healthcare privacy requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
- 15+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related discipline, ideally within a multi-business-unit and/or private-equity-backed organization.
- 8+ years of demonstrated management or leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to enterprise-wide process improvement and change initiatives.
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, pricing, and operational finance.
- Experience supporting Board, investor, and/or lender reporting is preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel capabilities, with experience using accounting and financial systems; Oracle and Hyperion SmartView experience is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to transform complex financial information into concise executive-level narratives.
- Demonstrated executive presence, including the ability to present to and influence senior decision-makers.
- Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, particularly when driving change across teams without formal authority.
- Self-directed and comfortable managing ambiguity, competing priorities, complex projects, and high-priority deadlines with minimal supervision.
- A continuous-improvement mindset, strong initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to challenge established processes constructively.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically as required.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
- Base salary: $170,000–$210,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by experience, skills, qualifications, business needs, geographic location, and internal equity.
