About the role
Description
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Platform team, dedicated to the Hospice business unit. You will own the AWS infrastructure for a recently migrated healthcare platform, driving stability, cost optimization, and modernization. This is a high-impact role where you will shape the technical direction of a critical healthcare platform serving hospice patients across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Hospice AWS infrastructure using Terraform (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Backup)
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications transitioning from legacy deployment processes
- Execute the cloud cost optimization roadmap: right-sizing, Savings Plans, storage tiering
- Plan and lead the migration from EC2-based workloads to modern architectures (EKS, Lambda, Step Functions)
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability (Datadog, CloudWatch)
- Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance and security best practices across all environments
- Mentor and upskill the Hospice application team on AWS operations and modern SDLC practices
- Collaborate with DBA team on the SQL Server EC2 to RDS migration
- Manage production patching, backup/DR, and incident response for the Hospice platform
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
- Deep expertise with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation/Terraform)
- Strong Terraform experience (modules, state management, CI/CD integration)
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows Server and .NET application deployments
- Experience migrating legacy on-premises workloads to AWS
- Experience with SQL Server administration or migration to RDS
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Experience mentoring or leading small teams
