Senior DevOps Developer, Asset Manager
About the role
The opportunity
Unity Asset Manager is the cloud home for real-time 3D content, where creators, studios, and enterprises store, organize, version, and collaborate on their digital assets. Used primarily by industry customers, such as automotive and engineering teams, it's a fast-growing part of the Unity Cloud platform, and increasingly, our largest customers want to run it, and other Unity products, inside their own private cloud environments.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll own how Asset Manager ships to our public cloud offering and build the tooling and deployment options that let enterprise customers run it in their own private and self-hosted environments. It's a dual mandate: keep our public cloud fast, reliable, and easy to release to, while making private enterprise deployments repeatable and well-supported. Over time, your work will extend beyond Asset Manager to help bring other Unity products and services into private enterprise cloud systems. As a Senior Engineer, you'll set technical direction, own meaningful and visible infrastructure, and work closely with the engineers building the product to make releasing it effortless and safe.
You'll join the Authoring Platform team that builds Asset Manager; a collaborative group of backend engineers, Unity (C#) package developers, and experts in 3D algorithms. We work flexibly and asynchronously, lean on each other through daily syncs and open code reviews, and care deeply about building a quality product. Our work reaches some of the largest enterprises in the world, often with strict security and compliance needs, so the deployment experience you build genuinely matters.
Everyone here uses tools like Claude Code as part of their daily workflow, and we’re actively exploring ways to improve efficiency through the use of AI tools, including generating code directly from product requirements. If experimenting at the frontier of how software gets built sounds energizing, you'll fit right in.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build, operate and maintain the pipelines and infrastructure that deploy Asset Manager to Unity's public cloud, with reliable, automated, low-friction releases.
- Create the tooling, packaging, and deployment options that let enterprise customers run Asset Manager in their own private and self-hosted cloud environments.
- Extend these deployment patterns so other Unity products and services can reach private enterprise cloud systems.
- Strengthen observability, security, and reliability across both public and private deployments.
- Partner with product engineers to shape services for portability, and mentor others on deployment and operational best practices.
- Your First 90 Days:
- By 30 days: You've learned our public cloud deployment pipelines and infrastructure, partnered with our current DevOps engineer, and identified the highest-impact opportunities to improve reliability and reduce toil.
- By 60 days: You've taken ownership of a meaningful slice of the deployment process, delivered improvements to automation or reliability, and started mapping out repeatable patterns for private enterprise deployments.
- By 90 days: You've made our public cloud releases measurably smoother and stood up (or significantly advanced) a repeatable path for deploying Asset Manager into a private enterprise environment.
What we're looking for
- Deep experience deploying and operating production services on Azure with strong skills in Kubernetes and containers.
- Fluency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code, plus Helm and modern CI/CD pipelines, with a track record of making releases automated and repeatable.
- Experience packaging and delivering software into customer-controlled, private, or self-hosted environments.
- Solid grounding in security, observability, and reliability for systems
