Senior Designer - Verizon Freelance

Role Requirements

• 4 to 6 years of experience, with an agency setting preferred
• Bring a strong UI sensibility and visual design craft to digital product work, with complementary UX capabilities that inform and elevate your output
• Implement a combination of strategic, conceptual, and design skills across a variety of deliverable types
• Create and manage original, visually compelling work that is both on-brand and purposeful
• Skilled in establishing and maintaining visual design systems, with experience creating and deploying tokenized components for scalable design
• Adept at utilizing AI tools to inform and streamline the design process, from research to prototyping
• Collaborate effectively with clients and various teams within AKQA, contributing to a culture of openness and continuous improvement

Qualities and Characteristics

• A compelling portfolio of work with clear evidence of strong UI craft across digital products and services
• A drive to break boundaries and craft the best ideas of their kind
• Fearlessly and boundlessly creative, relentlessly attentive to detail
• Excellent knowledge of Figma, including working with design systems, setting up variables and libraries
• Strong proficiency with leading industry-standard UX design and prototyping tools
• Motion design skills are a welcome complement to your UI capabilities

Location & Commitment

• Hybrid; one day per week in our Soho office, must be commutable to NYC
• June 22, 2026 through December 23, 2026
• 40 hours/week
• Expected compensation: $2,000 to $2,560 per week
