Senior Data Engineer

The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will drive the end-to-end development of core data infrastructure through AI-native engineering. You will orchestrate AI agents to rapidly build, scale, and refactor high-performance systems, taking hands-on ownership of distributed, real-time architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the architecture of complex data systems prioritizing scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability
• Design and optimize production-grade data pipelines with focus on high-throughput, real-time streaming
• Drive Spec-Driven Development using OpenSpec or GitHub Spec Kit to create strict engineering contracts for predictable AI code generation
• Orchestrate agentic AI workflows with Claude Code and the Model Context Protocol to rapidly build, refactor, and scale data infrastructure
• Take full accountability and ownership of system components, solving deep technical challenges in a self-sufficient manner
• Implement rigorous testing and monitoring frameworks to ensure mission-critical data integrity
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence through feedback and architectural reviews

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience with 5+ years specifically in Data Engineering
• Deep technical expertise with Kafka including Producers, Consumers, and Stream Processing
• Strong experience with OLAP databases, with ClickHouse expertise highly preferred
• Fluency in Python and SQL for complex data manipulation and optimization
• Willingness to embrace agentic AI-assisted development using Claude Code
• Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and automated CI/CD pipelines
• Significant experience with open-source tools and technologies in the modern data stack
• Excellent communication skills and desire to work in a transparent, feedback-based environment
• Fluency in English
