About the role
Accountabilities:
- Serve as the senior strategic advisor for enterprise clients, aligning employee benefits strategies, renewal outcomes, coverage structures, and service solutions with their business objectives.
- Lead client planning activities, renewal strategies, stewardship meetings, executive reviews, and ongoing relationship management while ensuring consistently high-quality client service.
- Partner with producers, consultants, carriers, vendors, and internal specialists to develop customized solutions addressing compliance, plan design, population health, claims advocacy, workforce needs, and other client priorities.
- Provide strategic guidance to executive leaders and key decision-makers, building trusted relationships and helping clients navigate complex employee benefits considerations.
- Lead the resolution of complex client issues by coordinating appropriate internal resources and ensuring timely, effective outcomes.
- Drive client retention by monitoring relationships, anticipating evolving needs, and ensuring client lifecycle activities are delivered efficiently.
- Identify opportunities for account growth and expansion while supporting business development initiatives and participating in finalist presentations for prospective clients.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure client strategies, service delivery, and operational priorities remain aligned with agreed objectives.
- Contribute expertise and leadership to broader client service initiatives and support the development of colleagues where appropriate.
- Active Life, Health, and Accident Insurance License is required.
- 7+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting, insurance brokerage, client management, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience managing large, complex, or enterprise-level client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to executive leaders and other senior decision-makers.
- Strong strategic consulting, relationship management, communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute employee benefits strategies for complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits, including plan design, compliance, population health, carrier markets, claims advocacy, and vendor management.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional service teams and managing multiple stakeholders toward shared client outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and employee benefits technology platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to support client retention, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to business development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience is preferred.
- Professional designations such as CEBS, RHU, REBC, GBA, CBP, CHRS, or similar are preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex priorities independently.
