Senior Applications Specialist

Accountabilities:

• • Prepare customers for and conduct validation studies on Chemistry and Immunoassay instrumentation, including instrument setup, calibration, precision studies, and method comparisons.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for assay, quality-control, and instrument-related questions, helping customers resolve operational and performance issues effectively.
  • Deliver onsite training to customer Key Operators and laboratory personnel, reinforcing correct instrument use, procedures, and readiness following installation and validation.
  • Work closely with customer teams to ensure validation activities meet established technical specifications, quality expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable technical partner throughout the customer experience, communicating findings clearly and addressing questions related to laboratory workflows and diagnostic instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support, Field Service, Sales, Customer Training, and other internal teams to coordinate customer needs and deliver seamless service.
  • Maintain accurate validation records, documentation, and other required quality and compliance information.
  • Apply knowledge of laboratory practices, quality control, and regulatory standards to support reliable and compliant customer operations.
  • Provide a high level of customer service while working independently across a geographically dispersed territory.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to support installations, validations, training, and customer needs.

  Requirements:

  • Associate degree with at least 3 years of combined experience in laboratory, diagnostic instrumentation, medical technology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the diagnostics or healthcare industry, particularly within regulated laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory practices, including quality control, documentation, record keeping, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of laboratory regulatory frameworks such as CAP, CLIA, or COLA is highly valued.
  • Experience with medical technology, clinical laboratory equipment, Chemistry, Immunoassay, or related diagnostic systems is a plus.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand instrumentation, validation procedures, assays, and quality-control processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to train customers and explain technical information clearly.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to establish effective working relationships with laboratory professionals and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing customer needs, and remain organized in a highly travel-intensive environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically at least 95% of the time, based on business and customer requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
