Senior Applications Developer, Incentive Planning and Finance Operations

Accountabilities:

• • Own the architecture and ongoing development of the Anaplan environment supporting sales incentive compensation, including model design, calculation logic, territory hierarchies, and plan administration across business units.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Databricks data warehouse architecture, including data models, warehouse management, SQL development, reporting, and analytics infrastructure.

  • Build and maintain Fivetran pipelines that transfer data from Anaplan into Databricks for downstream reporting and analytics.

  • Develop and maintain Python- and SQL-based data pipelines that integrate data from systems such as Salesforce, Workday, and Zuora into Anaplan.

  • Apply object-oriented development principles and build reliable API integrations between business applications and data platforms.

  • Own development operations for the team, including CI/CD pipeline management and GitLab repository administration.

  • Use Databricks Asset Bundles to support deployment of jobs, pipelines, and workflows through automated development and release processes.

  • Maintain integration workflows and data pipelines in accordance with SOX audit requirements, including traceability, access governance, and change-management controls.

  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand complex incentive planning and finance requirements and translate them into scalable technology solutions.

  • Expand the team’s AI-enabled technical capabilities by integrating AI-assisted development tools into the codebase and workflows.

  • Develop end-user performance reporting applications within Databricks to improve visibility into incentive and finance data.

  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve automation, reliability, scalability, and efficiency across the application and data ecosystem.

  Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer, application developer, or similar technical professional within a mid-sized or large technology organization.

  • Experience in sales operations, finance, incentive compensation, or a comparable business environment is preferred.

  • Advanced Python development skills, including strong experience with object-oriented programming and API integration development.

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, including data warehouse architecture, SQL development, data engineering, and end-user reporting applications.

  • Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) for CI/CD deployment of jobs, pipelines, and workflows.

  • Familiarity with Terraform and YAML-based infrastructure provisioning is a plus.

  • Experience with Fivetran or comparable ETL/data integration platforms is preferred.

  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Anaplan, with system architecture experience preferred.

  • Experience integrating business applications such as Salesforce, Workday, and Zuora through APIs and related integration technologies.

  • Understanding of CI/CD practices, GitLab, source-code management, and development operations.

  • Strong interest in emerging technologies, including AI-assisted software development tools and modern engineering workflows.

  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and turn them into practical, maintainable technical solutions.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, finance, sales, and business teams.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on data accuracy, reliability, governance, and operational excellence.

  • Comfortable working independently and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  Benefits:

  • Base salary of $148,600–$237,400 annually in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington State, and Washington, D.C.

  • Base salary of $141,200–$225,600 annually in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia.

  • Actual compensation varies based on factors including location, experience, and performance.

  • Eligibility for equity awards, with award amounts determined based on factors such as experience, performance, and location.
