The Role

We're looking for an SDET who thinks like an engineer and tests like one too. This is an engineering role that owns quality as its primary output. You will work embedded in a team that ships production financial software at startup velocity, making speed and correctness coexist.

What You'll Own

• Test automation platform for Money Movement: end-to-end tests, API contract tests, integration test suites covering funding rails, card transactions, KYC flows, and Cash account operations
• CI/CD quality gates: design, implement, and maintain test pipelines that run on every PR and block regressions from reaching production
• Failure mode coverage: model real failure modes such as duplicate charges, partial KYC completions, webhook replay, idempotency violations, and provider outages
• Performance and load testing: validate that payment flows hold up under peak load and identify latency regressions before they hit production
• Test data and environment infrastructure: own tooling that makes tests repeatable, isolated, and fast
• Observability for test quality: track test coverage, flakiness rates, bug escape rates, and regression detection latency

Core Engineering Requirements

• Strong proficiency in at least one of: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go
• Experience designing and building test frameworks from scratch
• Deep familiarity with API testing: REST, webhooks, idempotency, retry behavior, and edge cases at integration boundaries
• Working knowledge of databases (SQL) and ability to write test data seeding/cleanup logic

Financial Systems (Strong Preference)

• Experience testing payment flows, ledger systems, or compliance pipelines
• Understanding of idempotency, double-spend prevention, and eventual consistency in distributed systems
• Familiarity with webhook-based event systems and out-of-order delivery scenarios

CI/CD and Infrastructure

• Experience integrating test suites into CI pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Ability to instrument tests for flakiness detection and coverage tracking
