About the role

Accountabilities:

    • Client & Requirements Management: Work with business analysts and clients to understand requirements, identify solution options, design enhancements, and ensure SAP functionality aligns with business needs.
    • Functional Ownership: Take ownership of multiple SAP HCM business process areas and act as the resident functional expert for configuration, support, integration, and project-related issues within areas of expertise.
    • SAP Configuration: Perform and review SAP HCM configuration for new and existing functionality, including payroll, time management, and related processes.
    • Solution Design: Develop SAP solutions covering blueprinting, configuration, testing, deployment, and production support, following established implementation methodologies and design standards.
    • Functional & Technical Documentation: Create Function Design Documents (FDDs), functional specifications, detailed design specifications, technical specifications, business process procedures, test scenarios, and end-user documentation.
    • Development Collaboration: Prepare functional specifications for ABAP developers, support developers throughout implementation, and review Technical Design Documents to confirm that requirements have been fully addressed.
    • Testing & Quality Assurance: Review unit and QA test plans, participate in integration testing, and ensure new functionality does not negatively affect existing processes.
    • Payroll & Time Solutions: Support SAP payroll and time management functionality, including gross and net payroll, tax reporting, schemas, PCRs, custom operations, year-end activities, and support pack implementations.
    • Issue Resolution: Facilitate structured problem-solving discussions with clients, operations teams, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to resolve complex issues and maintain project continuity.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with ABAP developers, QA teams, functional analysts, and user communities to deliver enhancements and address customer requirements.
    • Knowledge Transfer: Share SAP HCM knowledge with functional analysts and other team members to improve system understanding, adoption, and effective utilization.
    • Implementation Standards: Follow ASAP methodology, change-control procedures, design standards, integration testing protocols, and established delivery practices throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Business Partnership: Identify SAP solution opportunities, communicate recommendations to business users, and help translate operational challenges into scalable technology solutions.
    • Requirements

      • Professional Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on SAP HCM experience, with strong expertise in APJ Payroll and Time.
      • Regional Payroll Knowledge: Experience with India and Malaysia payroll is essential, along with payroll experience in at least two additional APJ countries, such as Singapore and Thailand.
      • Implementation Experience: At least one complete end-to-end SAP HCM implementation experience, covering the relevant stages from requirements and blueprinting through configuration, testing, and production support.
      • SAP Payroll: Strong experience configuring gross and net payroll, Tax Reporter, payroll schemas, PCRs, custom operations, and rules.
      • SAP Time Management: Practical experience with the SAP HCM Time module and related configuration.
      • SAP HCM Configuration: Strong understanding of SAP HCM configuration, schema development, payroll rules, and functional integration across process areas.
      • Employee Self-Service: Knowledge of ESS/MSS and Fiori functionality.
      • Testing: 5–8 years of experience executing parallel payroll testing and supporting integration and quality assurance activities.
      • Compliance: Extensive experience with payroll compliance reporting across multiple countries.
      • Documentation: Ability to develop functional and technical specifications, process documentation, test scenarios, user manuals, and related project deliverables.
      • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, business users, technical teams, and project stakeholders.
      • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduation qualification in any discipline.
      • Work Authorization: Candidates must have current and future authorization to work in India without requiring visa sponsorship.
