About the role
The work
The Deployment Release Deputy is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the release and deployment of software solutions within a fast‑paced SAP program environment. This role supports planning, refining, and managing deployment activities tied to major SAP software releases, leveraging Agile methodologies, iterative development practices, and SAP ChaRM. The Deployment Release Deputy works closely with cross‑functional teams to schedule, execute, and monitor release activities while proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth deployment through hypercare. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and hands‑on experience with release management tools and project tracking.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain deployment plans, including tracking milestones, task dependencies, and critical path activities
- Monitor and manage release schedules, identifying risks and mitigation strategies
- Coordinate and execute deployment and release activities with cross‑functional teams including software delivery, OCM, and Release Management
- Support development and implementation of deployment strategies, standards, and best practices
- Maintain clear documentation related to release and deployment processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployment, release management, and environment readiness
- Provide timely and accurate status updates to stakeholders and project leadership
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for deployment and release processes
- Support integration with Agile delivery cycles, CI/CD workflows, and SAP ChaRM processes
Here’s what you need
- 5+ years of experience coordinating complex software deployments or release management activities
- Familiarity with Agile principles, SAP release processes, and iterative development cycles
- Hands‑on experience with project tracking tools (MS Project, Gantt charts, Jira, etc.)
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and release automation
- Ability to work collaboratively across functional, technical, and leadership teams
Nice to have
- Experience with SAP ChaRM and SAP software release cycles
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud deployment processes
- Experience supporting hypercare activities and post‑release stabilization
- Background working on large‑scale enterprise or federal programs
