About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of consultants, supporting utilization, performance, professional development, work-life balance, engagement, and retention.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance conversations, career planning, and ongoing coaching while partnering with senior leadership on team development and resource allocation.
- Oversee key performance indicators including service revenue, billable hours, utilization, project performance, and other business metrics.
- Own and strengthen relationships with assigned clients through frequent communication with client teams and senior executives, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic point of contact.
- Ensure client projects, deliverables, and overall service experiences meet or exceed expectations, proactively addressing issues and maintaining strong satisfaction and retention.
- Coordinate with account managers and executives to understand client priorities, communicate project progress, and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Manage project revenue and budgets, ensuring engagements are appropriately scoped, commercially viable, and aligned with customer requirements.
- Support business development and pre-sales activities by qualifying opportunities, understanding requirements, preparing presentations and statements of work, developing pricing strategies, and helping close new engagements.
- Identify opportunities beyond current engagements and help expand service revenue within assigned accounts.
- Direct and steer day-to-day execution of client projects, ensuring delivery remains on time, within budget, and at the required quality level.
- Provide guidance to consulting teams on project issues, resource needs, and client challenges, escalating matters appropriately when required.
- Monitor project status, business metrics, timesheets, invoices, and delivery performance, providing regular updates to consulting leadership.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of Sage X3 and/or Sage 500, relevant ERP solutions, add-on products, consulting methodologies, and applicable client-industry trends.
- Continuously identify ways to improve client solutions, team capabilities, operational processes, and service profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, quality assurance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience working with technical applications or equivalent experience, supported by a strong understanding of consulting and process methodologies.
- Proven consulting background with experience delivering complex technical solutions within defined timelines and budgets.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, schedules, resources, and project budgets.
- Strong project management skills, including prioritization, scope management, deadline management, and delivery oversight.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect technical solutions, governance, and consulting strategies to customer and business value.
- Understanding of client business drivers, financial analysis concepts such as ROI and TCO, and structured problem-solving.
- Demonstrated record of achieving agreed business objectives and performance against key metrics.
- Strong knowledge of Sage X3 and/or Sage 500, or the ability to quickly develop expert-level proficiency in these systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Previous experience with pre-sales, account planning, statements of work, pricing, or business development is desirable.
- Ability to translate customer and business requirements into practical solutions and communicate their value effectively to clients.
- Understanding of corporate financial practices and principles, or the ability to develop this knowledge.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- A client-first mindset, strong analytical abilities, integrity, accountability, and a collaborative approach.
- Ability to inspire, coach, and motivate consultants while building trust across clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Customer approval may be required for access to customer information, systems, and/or premises.
- Base salary: $125,000–$165,000, depending on experience, education, skills, market factors, and other applicable considerations.
- Bonus eligibility in accordance with the applicable compensation plan.
