The Role
LeafLink seeks a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Manager with expertise in high-risk, complex banking environments. In this role, you will perform critical risk and compliance activities for a fast-moving company, serving as subject matter expert on core regulatory functions. This is not a routine compliance role – it requires regulatory prowess, a broad compliance acumen, business judgement, and the ability to operate with independence and ambiguity.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Engaging in audit preparation and readiness activities, responding to audit requests
- Supporting partner bank pass-through regulatory examinations and due diligence requests
- Drafting policies and procedures, building out a centralized governance framework
- Evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, suggesting enhancements and engaging in effective challenge
- Managing enterprise training content and ensuring timely completion
- Monitoring the regulatory landscape for developments that affect LeafLink, its subsidiaries and its partner banks
- Developing Board-level reporting of KRIs, KPIs and other metrics
- Conducting enterprise risk assessments and gap analyses
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- 3-5+ years of experience in a risk and compliance function in a high-growth environment; fintech or cannabis banking is a plus
- Experience in drafting and maintaining libraries of policies and procedures; building governance infrastructures is a plus
- Experience with regulatory exam management and audits; managing exams and audits is a plus
- Ability to identify relevant regulatory and industry changes and translate them into digestible, actionable pieces
- Experience in conducting gap analyses and risk assessments
- Knowledge of KPIs, KRIs and other reportable metrics; experience with Board-level reporting is a plus
- CRCM certification a plus
