We're looking for a skilled reporter who wants to own the biggest conversations in Dallas and write newsletters that become the talk of the town. Requirements include:
- Co-authoring a daily Axios newsletter full of insights and scoops that matter most to Dallas residents
- Interest in covering many aspects of life in the city
- Experimenting with and leveraging AI for reporting and newsletter production
- Writing conversationally, in Axios' Smart Brevity style
- Helping to build Axios Local and shaping how our product evolves

Ideal candidates will operate with a startup mentality and an entrepreneurial spirit, and have the following skills:
- Experience covering Dallas
- Excellent sources and the desire to create new ones
- Ability to break news and create conceptual scoops
- Omnivorous curiosity about your hometown, no matter how long you've lived there
- Ideas, ideas, ideas
- Comfort flexing some voice and personality in your writing
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced news environment and on deadline
- The desire to make yourself indispensable to local readers and to Axios Local
Compensation and benefits
Starting salary for this role is in the range of $65,000 - $105,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits.
