About the role
Accountabilities:
- Build and lead diverse, high-performing field teams through effective talent acquisition, development, succession planning, coaching, and performance management.
- Deliver regional sales targets while establishing a strong cadence of accountability through clear expectations, KPI monitoring, performance discussions, and continuous improvement.
- Develop, execute, and oversee regional business plans centered on customer needs, working closely with Area Business Leaders and cross-functional partners to strengthen customer experiences and product demand.
- Act as a key member of the national leadership organization, contributing to regional capability building, business performance, team development, and organizational culture.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment where team members are empowered to share ideas, challenge established practices, experiment, and learn from setbacks.
- Ensure all regional activities are conducted with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to applicable ethical standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Guide regional resource and budget allocation, optimizing face-to-face engagement and omnichannel resources according to market needs.
- Develop individualized growth and performance plans, supporting team members in reaching their professional potential.
- Use analytics and business intelligence platforms to guide decisions, identify risks and opportunities, and improve regional performance.
- Partner across functions to address complex commercial priorities and strengthen customer engagement with healthcare providers, key accounts, and systems of care.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, B2B, or another complex commercial environment with large, geographically dispersed sales organizations.
- 5+ years of experience as a first-line sales manager, demonstrating strong critical thinking, commercial leadership, and an enterprise-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated success leading field organizations through periods of change, innovation, growth, or transformation.
- Proven ability to drive sales performance, execute commercial strategy, and lead cross-functional initiatives within matrixed and multi-regional organizations.
- Strong track record of attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent while building accountable, engaged, and high-performing teams.
- Experience developing and executing business and incentive plans, managing budgets, and applying strong financial, operational, strategic, and analytical judgment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including functions such as marketing, market access, medical, patient services, and account leadership.
- Experience as a second-line sales leader is preferred.
- Experience in market access, reimbursement, account management, payer environments, buy-and-bill, or specialty pharmacy is a plus.
- Ability to reside within the assigned region or within reasonable commuting distance of a metropolitan airport.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60–80% across a broad geographic territory, including driving and air travel.
- A fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, business acumen, and decision-making skills.
- Annual salary range of $204,400–$379,600, with final compensation determined by relevant skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
