About the role

Accountabilities:

    • Perform daily quality inspections across welding, pipeline, facility, mechanical, and turnaround activities to verify compliance with project requirements.
    • Inspect completed and in-progress work against approved drawings, technical specifications, applicable codes, and client standards.
    • Coordinate and witness quality testing activities, including non-destructive examination (NDE), hydrostatic testing, and material verification.
    • Verify that materials are properly documented, traceable, approved, and compliant before installation.
    • Maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including required hold points, witness points, inspections, and client approvals.
    • Review welding documentation, inspection records, material traceability, and turnover documentation for completeness and accuracy.
    • Identify non-conformances, document quality issues, and support teams in developing and implementing corrective actions.
    • Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports, quality records, and project closeout packages.
    • Participate in client, regulatory, and third-party inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
    • Collaborate with project and operations teams to resolve quality concerns while maintaining project schedules and applicable standards.
    • Requirements:

      • CWB Welding Inspector Level 2 certification is required.
      • Current CSTS, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, First Aid, and other applicable industry safety certifications.
      • Previous quality inspection experience on pipeline, facility, industrial, oil and gas, or turnaround projects.
      • Strong practical knowledge of welding inspection, construction quality processes, NDE, pressure testing, and material traceability.
      • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
      • Familiarity with CSA, ASME, API, and client-specific quality standards is an asset.
      • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication abilities, and practical problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced turnaround environment while maintaining a high standard of quality and documentation.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management or reporting systems.
      • Willingness and ability to work in Fort McMurray, Alberta in support of an upcoming turnaround project.
